The Khana Group helps FACE Africa raise about $150,000 to support clean water programs in Liberia
On March 21st, 2015 FACE Africa hosted its 6th Annual WASH Gala in New York City. The goal of this event is to raise funds for water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs in rural Liberia in recognition of UN World Water Day. The Khana Group was proud to have Managing Partner,TaaWongbe serve on the FACE Africa host committee. Over 300 professionals attended the event in support of FACE Africa and its mission to strengthen water infrastructure and services in Sub-Saharan Africa.
FACE Africa is a community development organization working to strengthen water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure and services in rural communities across sub-Saharan Africa. This year’s WASH Gala theme “Building Resilient Communities” underscores the need for continuedinvestments in basic infrastructure and essential services like WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene). This was especially true in light of the Ebola Virus Disease that ravaged communities in West Africa, with Liberia being the hardest hit. The provision of WASH services by FACE Africa played a major role in not onlycontaining, but also preventing the further spread of the disease in the communities where we operate.
This year, The Khana Group helped to raise almost $150,000 dollars for FACE Africa, which will help bolster the implementation of water, sanitation and hygiene projects such as the building of latrines, wells and hand pumps throughout rural Liberia. We are truly excited about the work FACE Africa is doing to impact lives in Liberia and it is our mission to support FACE Africa’s endeavors in every way that we can.
