Technical Advisor
Heidi is a Technical Advisor at The Khana Group, supporting various forms of research and evaluation projects. She is a specialist in the measurement of maternal and child health indicators, with nine years of experience working in West Africa. Heidi has worked with the Ministry of Health in Liberia since 2009, designing the nationwide accreditation survey for all government and private health facilities, conducting representative household surveys on maternal and child health indicators, and most recently on improving surveillance data collected during the Ebola epidemic.
Heidi is also an advisor for three medical device and pharmaceutical companies in the San Francisco Bay Area where she designs and conducts novel analysis plans for FDA regulated randomized controlled trials and has developed simulation methods for handling complex time-dependent confounding in observational data. Her work has been published in the American Journal of Public Health, the International Journal of Epidemiology, and the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics, among other peer-reviewed journals. Her methodological work in measuring challenging reproductive health constructs won a national-level award in 2014.
Heidi received her Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley, and her PhD in Epidemiology at the University of California, San Francisco.
