TKG supports Rockefeller’s 100RCPaynesville(Liberia) launch
In 2015, the City of Paynesville, Liberia, applied to join the 100 Resilient Cities (100 RC) Initiative. The Paynesville City Corporation (PCC) officially launched its participationin the initiative by hosting its Agenda Setting Workshop on the 30th of November 2016 at Paynesville City Hall. The workshop featured an engagement with a wide range of stakeholders with interest in strengthening Paynesville’s resilience and a productive discussion around opportunities for the city to develop ways to address any resilience challenges.
Partner organizations (TKG, 100RC, Dalberg) and local communities set the agenda for implementation of the 100 RC projects in the City of Paynesville at the 100 Resilient Cities Agenda Setting Workshop.
There was strong participation of influential stakeholders, comprising of government ministries, community leaders, civil society organizations, private sector representatives, multilateral and donor-based organizations, community based organizations, and local media.The Mayor of Paynesville, Mayor Cyvette Gibson, and other senior stakeholders in attendance expressed their excitement and pride in Paynesville’s participation in 100RC.
