TKG Manages Researchtosupport AngloGold Ashanti

AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) operates gold mines at two sites in Ghana, namely in Obuasi and Iduapriem.

TKG was contracted by AngloGold Ashanti to undertake a baseline survey for the AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi and Iduapriem Mine Community Trust Funds. The function of the Trust Funds is to make investments in a way that contributes meaningfully to community development, aligns with the priorities of communities, local and national government, and promotes a positive relationship between AGA and the communities near its mines.

The purpose of the baseline was to establish benchmarks for community wellbeing; education, health and economic indicators that will enable the programme assess structures and interventions that will enhance effective allocation of resources and ensure sustainability.

The baseline data was gathered across 62 communities spanning one Municipal Assembly, four District Assemblies and four paramouncies for Obuasi and involved 22 communities in Iduapriem, which fall under one Municipal Assembly and one paramouncy.
